Dear Business, Friend & Neighbor:
The Atwater Aviators are here !!!!! Come join Merced County’s new baseball franchise as
minor league style baseball hits it big in Atwater. Some of America’s best professional
baseball prospects will make Merced County their home this summer. Members of the
current Atwater Aviators team could be the next Derek Jeter, Jose Reyes, Alex Rodriguez,
David Wright or David Ortiz.
Pacific West Baseball League (PWBL)
The focus of the PWBL is to bring minor league style baseball to mid-sized communities
throughout the West while featuring affordable family entertainment. Cities like Stockton,
San Jose, Menlo Park, Fresno, El Dorado Hills, San Francisco and Atwater are the
backbone of the Pacific West Baseball League, and it is those franchises that are the
foundation of the PWBL now and in the future.
Traditionally, teams like those featured in the PWBL showcase some of the top talent in
the country. As a result, future Major League stars will grace the diamonds of the PWBL
each season, bringing excitement to their team’s communities while entertaining
thousands of fans each summer.
Hall of Fame coach Phil Swimley is an advisor of the PWBL. A former Board member of the
American Baseball Coaches Association, Swimley won over 900 games as a college head
coach, advancing to the NCAA tournament six times while playing in one College World
Series. An icon in the sport, Coach Swimley has been instrumental in developing the ideas
behind the Pacific West League.
About the Aviators
The Aviators’ mission is to provide an environment where each team member is
accountable to his teammates for his development and personal growth as an individual
and as a baseball player. We strive to teach the game of baseball, to help each achieve
their full potential in life, and to learn the keys to winning: hard work, dedication,
perseverance, and sportsmanship. We value respect for our teammates, our coaches, our
families, and the great game of baseball. We will always “pay the price” for success,
practice hard, compete hard, and win or lose - we will always do our best.
Integrity/Intelligence/Intensity
We exist to advance professional baseball prospects towards their futures in professional
baseball, while providing them the structure and guidance to return to their respective
colleges – if they don’t sign their contracts -- as better students, better citizens and as
better players.
